Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care for our residents at Beachside Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. This vital role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence while delivering personalized care that enhances their quality of life. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to fostering a warm and supportive environment for those in their care.

Duties
  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
  • Monitor and observe patients’ health status, including vital signs and overall well-being, and report any concerns promptly
  • Administer medication following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when required
  • Support clients with mobility challenges by helping them move safely within their environment or using assistive devices
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and infection control practices
  • Document patient observations, care provided, and any changes in condition accurately to ensure seamless communication among healthcare teams
Skills
  • Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments
  • Knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and patient monitoring
  • Familiarity with specialized care such as Alzheimer’s/dementia care, memory care, autism spectrum disorder support, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid; experience with HIPAA compliance is essential for maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate equipment like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices
  • Strong observational skills for patient safety and health status assessment
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening in accordance with state regulations.
