Job Description:

Shift
:
Monday
- Friday 8:30am- 5pm.

Location: 480 W. Central Parkway, Altamonte Springs – occasional travel for recruiting volunteer events

Reviews incident reports regarding conflicts between volunteers, patients, and caregivers, investigates and reports on findings, and observes volunteer work activities to evaluate performance. Organizes and participates in volunteer recognition programs. Maintains accurate records and provides timely statistical and activity reports on volunteer participation. Communicates with Patient Care Managers and others to determine specific needs for volunteers and assigns volunteers to assist in providing patient care services based on assessed needs.

Participates in staff meetings, department meetings, in-services, and other related activities. Recruits, interviews, selects, and retains volunteers to support the patient census. Trains and monitors volunteers, placing them with patients or departments based on their strengths and weaknesses. Monitors volunteers' status and workload to ensure their services are utilized and assigned whenever available. Informs volunteers of policies, procedures, and standards of volunteer service.

Develops and oversees newsletters and volunteer resources. Confers with volunteers to resolve grievances and promote cooperation and interest. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of basic to intermediate application of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, as well as internet software. [Required]
  • Knowledge of patient database systems. [Required]
  • Knowledge of telephone protocol. [Required]
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with critical thinking and problem-solving skills. [Required]
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database applications. [Required]
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. [Required]
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. [Required]
  • Must have strong diplomacy and collaborative skills, as well as be a strong facilitator with the ability to work independently and within a matrix organization. [Required]
  • Ability to work with a diverse population and age groups, and develop positive relationships with volunteers, staff, and community partners. [Required]
  • Working knowledge of volunteer principles of administration. [Required]
  • Understanding of business and/or Human Resources concepts. [Preferred]
  • Customer Service skills. [Preferred]
Education:
  • Associate [Preferred]
  • Field of Study: in a related field
Work Experience:
  • 2+ related experience [Required]
  • Volunteer program support, HR onboarding, or healthcare volunteer experience [preferred]
