Job Summary

Sarasota Memorial First Physicians Group has an excellent opportunity for a Physician Assistant to join an established and well-respected Neurosurgery Group. This newly created position will be based at Sarasota Memorial Hospital – Venice and involve a mix of inpatient, outpatient, and OR duties.

• Join a team of 5 surgeons and 5 APPs.
• Monday – Friday schedule.
• PA-C will be responsible for hospital consultations, follow‑ups and first assist in the OR as needed.
• Outpatient follow‑up in a clinic setting is being explored.
• Provide remote administrative assistance to PAs working in the clinic.
• Optional call responsibility.

• Work in a multidisciplinary setting, providing first assist and performing procedures such as chest tube and line placement.
• Manage patient care across multiple inpatient units, including critical care, trauma, and surgical cases.
• Coordinate follow‑up care and documentation for efficient billing.

• Current NCCPA Certification.
• Active or eligible for licensure by the State of Florida.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Neurology experience, surgery preferred.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with physicians and allied health personnel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Clinical competency in neurology settings.
• Knowledge of pharmacology and prescribing (DEA licensing).
• Documentation skills for accurate medical billing.
• Leadership and strong interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of state and federal health laws and regulations.
