Job DescriptionUp to $10,000 Sign-On Bonus and $ 3,000 Relocation Assistance available to eligible candidates (see terms below)
Terms:
12-month Full-time Employment Contract Required for Sign-On
One (1) year of applicable experience
Internal Candidate and Rehires within 12 months are not eligible
Relocation EligibilityMust live 50 miles outside of campus address
Rehires that are less than 12 months from separation date are not elegible
Performs pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, function checks, inventory control, supply stocking, specimen collection, biological specimen processing, cleaning, and disinfection of laboratory equipment and spaces.
Conducts post-analytical activities related to laboratory testing, including reporting results and providing technical support.
Completes tests and analytical procedures efficiently and accurately according to established standard operating procedures.
Participates in proficiency testing, adhering to federal and state regulations and institutional policies.
May act as a preceptor to facilitate orientation and training to new employees and students, documenting appropriately. Offers guidance to technicians and support staff, resolving customer service issues within guidelines and supporting education to clinical staff. Follows safety policies including the use of PPE, handwashing, and hazardous chemical handling, and completes required training for handling hazardous waste. Participates in laboratory and hospital performance improvement activities.
Evaluates new laboratory techniques and procedures, assisting with data collection and special projects. Facilitates workflow and supports education to clinical staff as needed. Other duties as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures, equipment, quality control, and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize workloads, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, team members, and customers.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and laboratory information systems.
- Ability to maintain records, perform quality assurance activities, and train or mentor new staff.
- Commitment to compliance, confidentiality, and adherence to applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Ability to safely handle biological specimens, chemicals, and laboratory materials.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and other shifts as needed.
