About the RoleThe Roads Home Health Care is looking for a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide skilled physical therapy services to patients of all ages in their homes across South Florida, working under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on clinician who wants to build real relationships with patients and see the direct impact of home health care.
Both full-time and per diem opportunities are available.
- Perform physical therapy treatment services as planned, delegated, and supervised by the Physical Therapist
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and treatment techniques to support recovery and mobility
- Use strong interpersonal and communication skills to teach patients and family caregivers
- Complete accurate, timely clinical documentation for each patient visit
- Apply infection control practices and standard precautions during all patient care activities
- Accept clinical assignments consistent with your training, education, and competency level
- Participate in required continuing education and in-service training programs
- Communicate patient progress and changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Support patients through therapeutic exercises, gait training, and mobility activities during each home visit
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program with an Associate Degree in Physical Therapy
- Current, valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- One year of experience as a PTA preferred
- Current CPR certification and Hepatitis profile
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto liability insurance
- Good interpersonal skills and a warm, professional bedside manner
- Ability to work flexible schedules and travel locally between patient homes
- Comfortable managing physical demands including lifting, bending, and prolonged standing or walking
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for hands-on treatment
- Ability to stay organized and meet patient care deadlines independently
- Genuine commitment to supporting patients' physical therapy goals with patience and encouragement
- Prior home health experience a plus
- Bilingual candidates a plus
