HIM Tech III, On-Site Day Shift

Position Summary:

Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis of deficiencies on Inpatient/SDS/GI/OBT discharged records according to PGH Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, JCAHO standards, and regulatory/licensure requirements. In order to allow for timely completion of the medical record, the Chart Deficiency Analyst will review each discharged patient's record for incomplete or missing items, identify the responsible practitioner for each of these items, and link the deficiencies to the appropriate physician for completion.

• High School graduate required
• Background in medical terminology with at least one year experience in medical record or physician's office.
• EDUCATION: High School graduate required. Some college or vocational training in a health related field preferred.
• TRAINING: At least 3 months under supervision of Senior Technician/HIM manager until competency is observed.

  SKILLS:
  
  Requires eye hand coordination with good manual dexterity. Must be able to distinguish colors. Must be able to look at CRT most of the day and must be able to use a computer keyboard.
• EXPERIENCE: Previous medical record experience. Prior knowledge of assembling/analyzing preferred
