Job Title:Pool Supervisor
Location: Salamander Middleburg – Outdoor Pool
Department: Recreation / Guest Experience
Reports To: Director of Recreation / Director of Food & Beverage / Pool Manager
The Pool Supervisor plays a key leadership role in the daily operations of the brand-new outdoor pool at Salamander Middleburg
, a luxury destination known for exceptional service, refined amenities, and authentic hospitality. This position is responsible for ensuring a safe, welcoming, and impeccably maintained pool environment while delivering personalized, high-end service to our guests. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong safety knowledge, hospitality instincts, and a passion for creating memorable outdoor leisure experiences.
Guest Experience & Service
Provide warm, professional, and attentive service to all pool guests, anticipating needs and resolving concerns promptly.
Maintain a visible presence on the pool deck to ensure guest satisfaction and uphold Salamander Middleburg’s luxury service standards.
Enforce pool rules and policies courteously and consistently to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
Coordinate with Food & Beverage, Spa, and Front Desk teams to create a seamless guest experience.
Operations & Supervision
Supervise and support lifeguards and pool attendants during daily operations.
Assist with scheduling, training, onboarding, and performance feedback for pool staff.
Ensure the pool area, cabanas, lounges, and surrounding spaces are clean, organized, and guest‑ready at all times.
Oversee daily opening and closing procedures for the pool facility.
Monitor towel inventory, amenities, and supplies; communicate needs to management.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all safety protocols, emergency action plans, and health regulations are followed at all times.
Respond to guest incidents or emergencies calmly and professionally, documenting as required.
Conduct routine safety checks of pool equipment and facilities.
Maintain required certifications and ensure staff certifications remain current.
Brand Standards & Presentation
Uphold Salamander Middleburg’s luxury brand standards, grooming policies, and service culture.
Assist in launching and refining pool operations for a new facility, contributing ideas to enhance guest enjoyment and operational efficiency.
Support special events, private pool rentals, and seasonal programming as needed.
QualificationsPrevious experience in pool operations, recreation supervision, or hospitality leadership (luxury or resort experience preferred).
Current Lifeguard Certification, CPR/AED, and First Aid (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to remain calm and professional in high‑pressure or emergency situations.
Guest‑focused mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal hours.
Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Ability to perform water rescues and first‑aid duties as required.
