OverviewThe Bonfire/Recreation Attendant is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and cleaning up bonfires and other recreational activities at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort. This role involves heavy lifting, managing equipment, and ensuring guest satisfaction. The attendant must have open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as these are peak times for bonfires and other recreational events.
Key Responsibilities- Set up bonfire sites, including arranging firewood, chairs, lighting, and other necessary equipment.
- Ensure all safety measures are in place and adhered to during bonfire events.
- Greet guests and provide exceptional customer service throughout the event.
- Monitor and maintain the bonfire, ensuring it is burning safely and effectively.
- Clean up after the bonfire, including extinguishing the fire, removing trash, and storing equipment.
- Assist with other recreational activities and special events as needed.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization at all times.
- Respond to guest inquiries and resolve any issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and report any damages or issues to the supervisor.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, including firewood, chairs, and other equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
- Frequent bending, lifting, pulling, and pushing during setup and cleanup.
- Must be able to safely handle fire-related equipment and materials.
- Must work outside in the natural elements.
- Requires attention to detail and safety measures.
- Must be present at each scheduled event until the conclusion of the event.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in recreation, hospitality, or customer service is a plus.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays with open availability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This position is primarily outdoors and will require working in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
