ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for the administration of authorized insurance plans offered at the University including employee enrollments, changes, and terminations from benefit programs.
- Administer the provisions of the University's health insurance benefit plans, ensuring compliance with state and/or federal guidelines. Duties include counseling employees on eligibility, coverage, costs, completion of forms or enrollment in People First, and communication and coordination with vendors. Manage employee enrollments and changes, serving as a liaison between FSU, People First, and benefit vendors.
- Work payroll queries for insurance. Ensure employee deductions are accurate in OMNI and appropriately applied in People First, initiating correction actions as needed. Process premiums and refunds, certify payroll deduction authorizations of University employees, and ensure accurate premium payments. Assist the Senior HR Specialist with all insurance files from People First and vendors.
- Help coordinate the annual Benefits and Wellness Fair, open enrollment help sessions, new faculty orientation, and other special events as required.
- Provide assistance to the Retirement team as coverage and situations require.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
• A bachelor's degree and two years of experience in human resources; or a high school diploma/equivalent and six years of related experience. (
Note:
a combination of post‑high‑school education and experience equal to six years.)

Anticipated Salary RangeThe anticipated starting salary for this position is in the mid‑$40,000’s, commensurate with experience and education.
