This full-time, on-site Human Resources Generalist role is located in Tallahassee, FL and supports the delivery of comprehensive HR services to City departments and employees. The HR Generalist will handle day-to-day activities such as supporting recruitment and onboarding processes. The role includes advising supervisors and employees on HR policies and procedures, helping resolve workplace issues, and supporting performance management and employee relations initiatives.
Qualifications- Strong foundation in Human Resources (HR) principles and practices, with experience applying them in a complex organizational or public sector environment.
- Demonstrated capability in HR Management and HR Policies, including interpreting and communicating policies, procedures, and guidelines to employees and leaders.
- Hands-on experience with Employee Benefits and Benefits Administration, including enrollment support, employee education, and coordination with benefits providers.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEO) and the ability to ensure compliance in day-to-day HR activities.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively with diverse employees and departments.
- Proficiency with HR information systems (HRIS) and standard office software, with attention to detail and accuracy in data management and reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field; relevant HR certifications (such as SHRM-CP or PHR) are preferred.
