Benefits Specialist
Redlands Christian Migrant Association (RCMA) is a nationally recognized non-profit leader in childcare and early education. RCMA operates more than 53 centers and 3 charter schools, with a staff of 1,400 employees, in 18 Florida counties. Purpose Of Position:
Reporting to the HRIS/Benefits Manager, the Benefits Specialist provides clerical support in the administration of RCMA's employee benefits plans. This position is responsible for processing employee benefit transactions and demonstrates strong customer service in providing first-level support to employees in response to incoming calls and emails. The HR Benefits Specialist reviews and audits benefit billing statements in preparation for payment;
and demonstrates accuracy in performance data entry into the ADP system and other Third Party Administrator platforms.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following However, Other Duties May Be Assigned:
- Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan coverage, benefit enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Demonstrates accuracy and timeliness in the processing of employee benefit transactions and completes related data entry in the ADP system
- Ensures the accuracy of data in the ADP system to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Performs quality checks and internal controls of benefit-related data.
- Assists employees regarding benefits enrollment throughout the year and during open enrollment.
- Maintains contact with and refers employees to the Employee Care Center to ensure they receive the support needed as it relates to claims or other issues.
- Assist with employee mailings and communication.
- Review accuracy of monthly invoices and ensures payment is timely processed.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
Mandatory
Qualifications:
To perform the job successfully, the selected candidate must have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Bilingual:
English and Spanish
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two years of related experience that includes data entry and customer service.
Preferred:
- Associate's degree in HR, business, administration, or other related fields
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Lifting of boxes, files, and training materials (up to 30 lbs.) may be required.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to focus on small types and mathematical figures.
Others:
- Must have or be able to obtain a Florida driver's license and a driving record acceptable to RCMA's insurance.
