Position Summary

The IT & Network Administrator serves as the primary and central point of responsibility for all information technology systems at the Alper JCC. This is a one-person IT role responsible for the planning, security, maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of the organization’s technology infrastructure, ensuring reliability, data protection, and operational continuity across all departments and campuses.

This role blends hands‑on technical execution, system ownership, documentation, and organizational risk management, while also supporting the responsible adoption of emerging technologies, including AI‑enabled tools, in alignment with organizational policies and best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities IT Systems and Network Administration
  • Maintain overall responsibility for the JCC’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, Wi‑Fi, firewalls, VPNs, switches, cabling, phone systems, printers, security systems, and end‑user devices
  • Administer and support LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN, and cloud-based systems using industry best practices
  • Monitor system performance, uptime, and security and proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Provide day‑to‑day technical support and serve as the escalation point for complex IT issues
  • Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, changes, and procedures
Security, Backup, and Disaster Recovery
  • Manage cybersecurity controls including firewalls, antivirus, patching, access controls, and monitoring.
  • Maintain backup systems and disaster recovery processes and test and document recovery procedures.
  • Develop, document, and maintain IT policies and procedures related to data security, access management, data storage, and disaster recovery.
  • Identify technology-related risks and recommend mitigation strategies to leadership.
Systems, Software, Cloud, and CRM Administration
  • Administer the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange, Teams, One Drive, SharePoint, Azure AD, and device management.
  • Serve as the primary administrator for the organization’s CRM and related systems, including user setup, role‑based access, permissions, and deactivation.
  • Maintain CRM data integrity in partnership with department leads through system rules, required fields, and access controls.
  • Support cloud‑based and third‑party systems used across the organization, including CRM, registration, finance, access control, and security platforms.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, onboarding, and offboarding access across all systems.
  • Support audits, insurance reviews, compliance requirements, and IT‑related documentation.
Project Support and Continuous Improvement
  • Plan and execute IT upgrades, replacements, and improvement projects in coordination with leadership.
  • Partner with departments to understand operational needs and recommend practical and secure technology solutions.
  • Stay current on relevant technology and cybersecurity trends and make improvement recommendations.
Emerging Technology and Responsible AI Use
  • Evaluate and support the responsible use of AI‑enabled tools to improve internal efficiency, communication, and service delivery.
  • Establish basic guardrails and usage guidelines to ensure AI tools comply with organizational data privacy, security, and confidentiality standards.
  • Monitor AI features embedded in systems such as Microsoft 365 or CRM platforms and assess access, data exposure, and risk.
  • Support leadership and staff in understanding appropriate AI use cases, limitations, and risks.
  • Recommend low‑risk, practical AI applications aligned with nonprofit operations and organizational needs.
Events and Operational Support
  • Provide IT support for major programs, events, and emergencies as needed.
  • Be available for after‑hours or weekend support when required for critical systems or events.
Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Three or more years of experience in IT systems, network administration, or a similar hands‑on technical role.
  • Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switching, routing, VLANs, DNS, and Wi‑Fi systems.
