as a member of the research & data analysis team at the florida department of corrections, our mission is to provide accurate, timely, and insightful data to support informed decision-making and policy development. this position is not a telework position and is required to report to the fdc office in the area it serves.

job duties:
  • ensure assigned projects evaluate the effectiveness of department policies, procedures, and programs, and identify areas for management improvement. Prioritize multiple projects for timely completion.
  • identify and coordinate projects by consulting with senior management and analyzing data. Work with key staff to resolve any managerial or operational issues.
  • perform statistical analysis for assigned projects, document findings, and present results to senior management. Refine research methodologies based on feedback.
  • create and document scientific methodologies for assigned projects, explaining how to conduct thorough analysis of specific issues. Produce comprehensive reports with conclusions, using data analytics, excel, sas, etc.
  • compile data from research files and other sources to produce detailed statistical reports for departmental personnel, government agencies, legislative committees, and the public. Consult on technical issues and ensure data accuracy and reliability. Stay updated on corrections and criminal justice topics.

  • six (6) years of experience analyzing data and computer programming, writing programs, queries or formulas utilizing sas, spss, r, sql, or other programming language.
    • postsecondary education may substitute for up to two (2) years of required experience.
  • must be eligible to work in the u.s. Without sponsorship.
