Working Specialist – OPS (Working Title – MFL Team - Training Specialist)

Full Time Salary: $25/hr.
Location:
Tallahassee (Headquarters Office).
This is not a remote/telework position. The selected candidate will work from the DCF Tallahassee Headquarters Office.
What you will doThis position is in the Office of Quality and Innovation (OQI) at the Florida Department of Children and Families. OQI serves as the catalyst for ensuring high levels of performance across the state to support a strong workforce and positive outcomes for Florida families. The office seeks collaborative, action-focused, and transparent professionals dedicated to putting quality at the center of serving families.
This position supports all stakeholders of the Department’s learning management system (LMS). This is a highly professional role requiring excellent written and verbal communication skills. The LMS provides thousands of employees and external partners access to training opportunities. The goal of this position is to improve the learner experience through training, routine system maintenance processes, prompt response to reported or identified issues, and continuous improvement efforts.
and Responsibilities
- Creates LMS training resources, guides, and courses for various audiences
- Delivers trainings, demonstrations, and conducts office hour sessions
- Communicates with and trains new administrators and external organization leads
- Coordinates monthly training initiatives in the LMS (spotlight series, announcements, etc.)
- Provides end-user support for internal and external users in the Department’s LMS.
- Supports the creation of events and sessions within the LMS for learners to find and register for training and assists instructors with submission of rosters as needed.
- Maintains a system of catalog management to manage all aspects of the training catalog including but not limited to creating unique training course names, verifying providers, and assigning subjects. Ensures the catalog is on an audit schedule to ensure fidelity of system.
- Reviews externally procured trainings/subscriptions requested for publishing in the LMS.
- Attends and participates in various technical exchange groups and forums related to Learning Management Systems and eLearning supports.
- Creates and generates reports and dashboards as requested/required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- One year of administrative support to a learning management system
- One year of training or teaching experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint (Office Suite) and Microsoft Teams are required.
- Exceptional critical thinking skills.
- Passion for learning and improving training programs and learning management system processes.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Proficient in systems‑thinking across operational locations, department programs and government agencies.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to make decisions and recommend solutions.
- Proficient in collaborating within a cross‑functional team.
- Consistently demonstrate a high level of professionalism in interactions and personal presentation.
- Demonstrate respect for others and professional interest through speech, nonverbal communication, active listening, and cultural competence.
- Ability to facilitate virtual meetings/trainings.
