Position SummaryUnder the direct supervision of the CJIS Manager, this position is responsible for the processing of fingerprint card requests, deceased fingerprint cards, data quality issues, and other requests from local, state, and federal agencies. This position requires extensive research using multiple databases to ensure requests are properly processed with accurate information. This position is also responsible for providing quality service to the public regarding these processes as well as state and federal guidelines.
This position must meet and maintain National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/ Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC) certification as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.
Specific duties include:
- Conducting research to ensure that all criminal justice information received is accurate and processes requests from other criminal justice agencies for criminal justice information;
- Processing requests for fingerprint card copies from state and national law enforcement and criminal justice agencies;
- Utilizing internal and external databases and contacts other criminal justice and non-criminal justice agencies to find and compile requested criminal justice data;
- Conducting research for relevant information from multiple databases to support additions, deletions, and modifications to BIS and CCH;
- Analyzing multiple source documents, form a recommendation, and performs modifications in CCH following the BSS standard operations manual;
- Resolving difficult, unusual or questionable issues in the review and processing of criminal justice information;
- Managing incoming and outgoing biometric records from District Medical Examiners for the most efficient processing;
- Sorting and distributing incoming records by individual Medical Examiner’s offices; and
- Searching incoming records against the CCH database to determine criminal history statuses.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others.
