Job Summary
The customer is seeking the services of two Business Analysts to work under the direction of the assigned Business Support Program Manager to document and test the changes of the internal accounting systems to achieve the goals and objectives of the PALM Project. The Business Analysts are expected to use their skills to facilitate, document, and coordinate with the business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure the changes made to replace FLAIR are documented, tested, and ready for production implementation for the financial unit to continue to work properly with the new system.
The Business Analysts will be responsible for writing test plans and also conducting quality assurance testing.
- Read existing documentation to quickly learn business concepts in the financial accounting area.
- Prepare accurate documentation and diagrams of the new processes in financial systems for the PALM project.
- Communicate clearly between stakeholders and the SMEs to document detailed test plans for financial systems impacted by PALM.
- Follow the test plans to test the financial systems impacted by PALM and perform ad‑hoc testing to find defects.
- Facilitate work sessions with the SMEs to understand how PALM changes impact accounting systems and current processes; determine, with the project team, the best methods to achieve those processes with the PALM changes.
- Document business processes and business requirements.
- Analyze business requirements to help define and design solutions that meet the requirements.
- Create a requirements traceability matrix to map requirements to test cases.
- Document use cases and test cases.
- Perform various testing methods to ensure minimal defects are encountered by the business customers.
- Document project deliverables.
- Provide status reports to the Business Support Program Manager.
- Assist in SME training for a train‑the‑trainer approach.
- Ensure customer expectations are met with the project.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross‑functional team members (Developers, Functional Analysts, and Testers) to produce scalable, efficient, and supportable solutions utilizing Oracle eBS and related technologies.
- Maintain test case documents, test data, and execute test cases/scripts.
- Required system deliverables.
- Daily status updates to the Business Support Program Manager.
- Documented detailed business and technical process cross‑walk between existing business processes and new processes required by PALM.
- Documented and executed test plans.
- Documented user acceptance.
- Documented defects during testing and test cycle summaries.
- Updated and current project workbook (updated bi‑weekly), as directed by the Business Support Program Manager.
- Documented issue register.
- Documented change logs.
- Documented action items register with follow‑ups for timely completion.
- Documented decision log during the project.
- Documented lessons learned during each phase of the project.
- Execution of effective test strategies.
- Documented and tested business support systems and processes impacted by PALM to ensure successful continuity of accounting functions.
- Knowledge transfer to the SMEs of impacts to their business processes.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related IT field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Experience as a BA in large‑scale software projects.
- Extensive knowledge of Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN).
- Experience with meeting facilitation.
- Experience with business analysis and requirements documentation.
- Experience designing quality test processes to identify defects.
- Experience using JIRA to document defects and monitor resolution.
- Experience performing different test methodologies in IT projects to find defects.
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with project team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to deliver assignments on schedule and with effective quality.
- Accountable to the assigned Business Support Program Manager for all phases of the PALM project.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
- MS‑Project experience.
- MS‑Visio experience.
- Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA).
- Certificate of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA).
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP).
- Certificate in Business Data Analytics.
- Professional in Business Analysis (PBA) certification.
