Database Analyst / Data Quality & Requirements Specialist (SQL + Excel) (0 - 5 Years)
Role OverviewWe are seeking a database-focused analyst with strong SQL skills and attention to detail. This role involves managing, updating, and auditing databases, partnering with stakeholders to gather requirements, and ensuring data accuracy and reliability. The position is suited for an individual who combines hands‑on database skills with a business analyst mindset to translate needs into data logic and validate results.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain, update, and audit relational databases, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Write and optimize SQL queries, including multi‑table joins and validation checks.
- Perform data quality checks, reconcile discrepancies, and document resolutions.
- Build and maintain Excel‑based audit tools for reporting and verification.
- Partner with users to gather requirements and translate business needs into data definitions.
- Create and maintain documentation for table definitions, field mappings, and audit results.
- Support process improvements around data updates, permissions, and governance.
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of software applications.
- Participate in Agile development processes and scrum ceremonies.
Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
Experience: 0‑5 years of experience in software development, data engineering, or full‑stack application development. Experience managing, updating, and auditing datasets is also required.
Technical Skills- Proficiency in SQL (Postgre
SQL or equivalent) and Python. - Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
- Solid understanding of relational database fundamentals.
- Knowledge of Dev Ops practices, cloud automation, ERP integration, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of security and compliance requirements like SOX.
- Certifications in AWS, Microsoft Power BI, Salesforce, or IT Project Management (PMP, Agile, SAFe).
- Familiarity with a mechanical or engineering environment.
- Familiarity with AVEVA PI, IBM Maximo, or AWS services (RDS, S3, Glue).
- Experience with Power BI dashboard development.
- Familiarity with data access tools like Quest or Toad.
Pay rate: $40.00 to $44.41 per hour. All assignments are eligible for worker furlough, which may coincide with select national holidays. Further details on benefits will be provided to eligible candidates.
