Data engineer

Job Description

The client is seeking an experienced Data Engineer (Systems Analyst) to support the development of a large-scale data integration hub within a performance management and analytics environment. The selected candidate will design, develop, and optimize ETL workflows, integrate data from multiple enterprise systems, and create scalable Snowflake-based solutions supporting business intelligence and reporting initiatives.

This role requires extensive experience with Informatica Power Center/IICS, Snowflake SQL development, data warehousing, and analytics platforms. The candidate will work closely with architects, engineers, business stakeholders, and agile teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable data solutions.

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL mappings and workflows using Informatica Power Center and IICS.
• Acquire, transform, validate, and integrate data from Oracle, SQL Server, Excel, Access, Adobe PDF, and other enterprise sources.
• Design and develop complex, high-performance Snowflake SQL scripts and data models.
• Support Tableau reporting and data visualization initiatives.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
• Perform testing, validation, troubleshooting, and optimization of data integration processes.
• Create technical documentation, data mappings, workflow diagrams, and system specifications.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, analysts, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Ensure compliance with data security, governance, PII, and PHI requirements.

• Support enterprise data warehouse and analytics initiatives.
• Assist with CI/CD implementation and deployment automation.
• Develop Python-based automation and data processing scripts.
• Support REST and SOAP service integrations.
• Contribute to performance tuning and optimization activities.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as Snowflake Cortex, Informatica Claire, and related technologies when appropriate.

• 8+ years of Informatica Power Center or Informatica IICS development experience.
• 8+ years of ETL design, development, and automation experience.
• 8+ years of data integration experience involving Oracle, SQL Server, Excel, Access, and PDF data sources.
• 8+ years of Snowflake SQL development experience.
• 8+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst supporting data analytics, performance management, or data warehouse projects.
• 8+ years of technical documentation, data modeling, and diagramming experience.
• 8+ years of experience delivering enterprise software solutions across multiple business units.
• Strong software development, testing, and code optimization experience.

• HHS agency experience.
• Experience handling PII and PHI data.
• JIRA experience.
• Java and JavaScript development.
• REST and SOAP web services.
• Git Hub and Git Hub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
• Mule Soft development experience.
• Snowflake Cortex, Snowflake Intelligence, or Informatica Claire AI experience.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
