Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to lead and coordinate IT initiatives supporting public health emergency preparedness systems for the Florida Department of Health. This role involves managing multiple mission-critical applications, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring timely delivery of system enhancements, integrations, and operational support.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end project management using PMBOK methodologies
- Develop and manage project schedules, timelines, and resource allocations
- Collaborate with System Integration Administrators (SIA), SMEs, and development teams
- Conduct root cause analysis for project delays and implement corrective actions
- Oversee system enhancements, releases, and API integration efforts
- Maintain project documentation including BRDs, technical specs, and change requests
- Establish and manage governance processes (CAB, advisory meetings, etc.)
- Track defects across staging and production environments and ensure timely resolution
- Provide regular status updates and participate in stakeholder meetings
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of IT Project Management experience
- Strong expertise in PMBOK and SDLC methodologies
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and cross-functional teams
- Strong stakeholder communication and coordination skills
- Experience working with application development and integration teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Public Health, Healthcare, or Emergency Preparedness systems
- Experience with state or government projects
- Familiarity with API-driven architectures and system integrations
- Exposure to ESF-8, emergency response systems, or similar domains
