Network Engineer, Systems Engineer
Empath Health is seeking an Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, optimize, and support the organization’s enterprise network infrastructure. This role serves as the primary technical expert for network technologies and is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of all network services.
This senior engineer will take ownership of the network environment, proactively identify opportunities for improvement, and lead initiatives that enhance performance, resiliency, and security. In addition to technical responsibilities, this role serves as an escalation point for complex issues and provides guidance and mentorship to other IT staff.
Location: Hybrid (driving distance to one of service areas, West Palm Beach, Sarasota, or Tampa/St.Petersburg)
What You’ll Do- Design and maintain the organization’s network architecture, including LAN, WAN, wireless networks, and connections to cloud environments and external service providers.
- Develop scalable and resilient network designs that support current operations and future growth.
- Implement redundancy and failover mechanisms to minimize downtime, eliminate single points of failure, and ensure critical systems remain accessible during outages or maintenance events.

- Strong technical expertise across a broad range of networking technologies, with a deep understanding of TCP/IP networking and enterprise infrastructure.
- Experience with routing and switching technologies, firewall configurations, and core network services such as DNS and DHCP.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose complex issues.
- Understanding of network security principles.
- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered.
