DISTRIBUTED COMPUTER SYSTEMS ADMIN - SES

This internal advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located in Region III, Office of Information Technology department. The purpose of this position is to supervise OIT field staff, manage the installation and maintenance of computer hardware and networks, and ensure secure, reliable data processing operations across multiple regional department facilities. This position is not a telework role and must report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

• Supervise an Office of Information Technology Field Office Team that performs computer support functions at multiple sites, including facilities for Office of Institutions, Office of Community Corrections, and support centers.
• Plan, install, and provide post‑installation support for personal computers, local area networks, distributed systems, and internal data and voice communications; assign daily tasks, evaluate staff performance, conduct site surveys, troubleshoot systems, and restore functions.
• Serve as backup to the Data Processing Manager and perform administrative support for the local area network, software, training, and help desk.
• Supervise maintenance of inventories of computer hardware, software, and data circuits.
• Oversee computer security activities, including the establishment and maintenance of local area network and distributed computer system user accounts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current employee of the Florida Department of Corrections.
