Sr Solutions Architect, Team Lead

Role Overview

This opportunity entails leading the design and development of software solutions for complex and large‑scale business problems while managing a team of software professionals. In this role, you will define development strategy and vision, establish technical approaches, and ensure the successful delivery of innovative, scalable, and secure software solutions. You will manage projects and project tasks, oversee staff development and performance management, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence in technology.

The position bridges technical execution with people leadership and strategic planning, advancing enterprise software capabilities and team growth.

• Lead and manage software engineering teams and strategic development projects.
• Define technical vision, development strategy, and architectural direction.
• Oversee task planning, resource allocation, and project execution.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering talent through performance management and coaching.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Collaborate with executive stakeholders to align software initiatives with organizational strategy.
• Ensure delivery of secure, scalable, and high‑performing software systems.
• Support succession planning and team growth through structured development plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 7 years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree in computer science or related field and 6 years of relevant experience.
• In lieu of education, 11 years of relevant experience.

• Demonstrated success in leading software engineering teams and enterprise programs.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with budgeting, resource planning, and team operations.
• Experience with Agile, Dev Ops, and cloud‑native development.

• Enterprise SharePoint architecture expertise – experience designing and implementing enterprise SharePoint environments in support of transportation programs and project delivery.
• Azure cloud architecture and integration – hands‑on experience designing and deploying cloud‑native solutions using Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure Storage, and Azure SQL.
• Multi‑language solution development – strong experience developing enterprise solutions using SQL, Python, and C#, including API development, data pipelines, and automation frameworks across cloud and SharePoint integrated environments.
• Transportation program and project delivery experience – experience supporting DOT, infrastructure, or transportation‑related programs.
• Software architecture and design leadership – proven experience leading solution design reviews and establishing architecture standards.
• Data and analytics integration – experience working with enterprise data platforms and reporting tools such as Power BI.
• Dev Ops and deployment practices – experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code such as Azure Dev Ops, Git, Terraform, or similar.
• Governance, security, and compliance – strong understanding of enterprise governance, security, and compliance requirements, and experience supporting both commercial cloud environments and regulated or constrained platforms.
