Position Overview and ResponsibilitiesDEP’s Office of Technology and Information Services (OTIS) is currently recruiting for an OPS Information Technology Analyst.
The incumbent of this position is responsible for technical support in accounts management and account modifications in Active Directory, Exchange Online, and enterprise network file shares. This includes creating, disabling, re‑enabling, restoring and otherwise maintaining user accounts and security groups, when needed.
This position is responsible for escalating potential security issues related to user accounts and fully supports the efforts of the agency’s Information Technology Strategic Plan. The incumbent must demonstrate strong relationship and interpersonal skills in working with program staff and the vendor community.
The employee is expected to identify and meet the needs of customers in order to provide excellent customer service. The employee should be helpful, cooperative, polite, respectful and concerned at all times in the interactions with customers when representing the Department or the State. This position serves as a customer service representative on behalf of this division when interacting with customers through all communication media, as well as when responding to incident/request service desk services.
The primary duties of this position include:
- Support all file share and/or NTFS permission tickets and tasks, including those associated with new hires and transfers. Permissions should be modified via security groups only, not by directly granting permissions to users.
- Manually create Active Directory accounts.
- Add and remove users from Active Directory security groups and distribution lists upon service request.
- Modify object fields in Active Directory upon service request.
- Manage Florida Digital Service user accounts in DEP's Active Directory upon service request.
- Create new security groups upon service request.
- Delete stale service accounts upon service request.
- Delete computers from the domain, upon service request.
- Re‑enable/restore accounts upon service request.
- Assist with troubleshooting Service Desk tools.
- Modify usernames and email addresses when needed (e.g., to remove a middle initial "X" when not needed).
- Create and modify shared mailboxes upon service request.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mailbox issues.
- Restore old/historical emails upon service request.
- Create and modify resource rooms upon service request.
- Grant One Drive access upon service request.
- Maintain owners for all shared mailboxes, security groups, distribution lists, and service accounts.
- Run daily reports using the agency’s enterprise data visualization tool.
- Perform ad‑hoc reporting of AD environment.
- Update and administer asset management software needed.
- Administer Office
365 G3 and Adobe licenses as needed. - Serve as a backup for tracking MiFis and air cards, including assisting with activation.
- Enable, modify, and troubleshoot DEP Statewide Travel Management Systems accounts.
- Administer the agency’s mass notification system.
- Advise the Customer Support Services Program Administrator on issues pertaining to licenses, Active Directory, Exchange Online, the agency’s mass notification system, the Statewide Travel Management System, scripting, and other technical areas as appropriate.
The incumbent must:
- maintain a working knowledge of established policies, procedures, and directives necessary to accomplish assignments and responsibilities;
- maintain a central filing system supporting assigned functions, duties and responsibilities using effective organizational and filing methods that provide opportunity for knowledge transfer;
- maintain proficiency in the use of office equipment, software applications, technical writing and a working knowledge of established policies, procedures, and directives necessary to accomplish daily assignments and responsibilities;
