- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a dedicated Program Director role managing large-scale, enterprise data modernization programs (19+ years of overall IT experience).
- Proven expertise in Data Architecture & Data Engineering, specifically designing and implementing cloud-native data platforms using Medallion Architecture principles.
- Hands‑on leadership experience delivering projects on the Databricks data lake platform.
- Strong background delivering complex data transformations within the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance or regulated financial services domain.
- Demonstrated experience leading RFP processes, third‑party vendor selection, and governance of external Systems Integrators (SIs).
- Professional program/project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or equivalent).
- Deep knowledge of data governance framework implementation, including data contract management, schema versioning, and metadata strategies.
- Outstanding executive presence with a track record of acting as a trusted advisor to C‑level executives (CIOs, CDOs) and managing cross‑functional business stakeholders.
We are seeking a seasoned, executive‑level Program Director to lead a large‑scale enterprise Data Modernization Program for a leading Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance organization. Based hybrid out of Sarasota, FL, this critical role will serve as the strategic center for transforming the organization's legacy, siloed data infrastructure into a modern, cloud‑native, and highly scalable data platform built on Databricks and medallion architecture principles.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of deep technical domain knowledge in data engineering, insurance business acumen, and elite program execution capabilities. Beyond managing schedules and budgets, you will act as a thought leader, helping executive stakeholders navigate ambiguity, guiding high‑level architectural decisions, and ensuring organizational alignment.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Own end‑to‑end accountability for the Data Modernization Program’s scope, schedule, budget, risk management, and quality control across all active work streams.
- Establish and drive robust program governance structures, including steering committees, executive operating rhythms, decision frameworks, and clear RACI models.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CIO and business unit leaders, sharing pattern recognition and best practices from prior data transformations to pre‑empt failure modes and accelerate decision‑making.
- Partner with data engineering leads to enforce standardizations for data contracts, schema versioning, partitioning strategies, and metadata management across raw, silver, and gold zones.
- Lead the RFP, vendor selection, and contract negotiation processes for cloud platforms, systems integrators, and data integration tools; manage and govern embedded third‑party delivery teams to ensure delivery quality and alignment.
