Starting Salary: $1,886.24 Bi-weekly ($49,042.24 annually) ( In accordance with current spending restrictions, if the appointment is an internal promotion, the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever higher.)

DESCRIPTION

The Information Technology (IT) Bureau in the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is seeking an experienced individual to assist IT project management office (PMO) in: coordinating and leading project delivery in accordance with project management processes based on Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) standards and the policies and procedures of DJJ; facilitating and performing data analysis and work processes to establish business and user requirements;

preparing documentation and participants for user acceptance testing (UAT) of developed software solutions including the Florida Planning, Accounting, and Ledger Management (PALM) system; leading the identification of key components of test execution including test management; and coordinating and maintaining procedures related to information technology projects and software application development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities, duties, and activities may include but not limited to the following:

  • Assists in the planning, coordination, and guidance for all phases of project management with project teams, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling, and closing projects, including the Florida Planning, Accounting, and Ledger Management (PALM) project, in accordance with project the management guidelines, standards, procedures, and templates, consistent with state rules and DJJ policies and procedures.
  • Provides the necessary coordination, guidance and documentation for monitoring and controlling projects risks, scope, and requirements on assigned Information Technology projects.
  • Elicits and documents user requirements as needed for Juvenile Justice technology projects including Florida PALM.
  • Performs data analysis on existing data and presents options available regarding a solution.
  • Works with other Information Technology personnel and agency program representatives to ensure that products meet expectations.
  • Keeps customers and Information Technology Project Manager informed of progress toward meeting customer needs. Acts as point of contact for customers and technical staff on assigned projects.
  • Facilitates and performs data analysis and work processes to establish business and user requirements; and prepares documentation and subject matter experts for user acceptance testing (UAT) of developed technology solutions including the Florida PALM project.
  • Produces agendas and minutes for meetings when applicable.
  • Facilitates meetings with agency representatives to ensure the objectives of the meeting is obtained.
  • Ensures timely and accurate verbal and written communication with team members, Information Technology Project Manager and agency representatives at all levels as needed.
  • Responsible for oversight and assistance in the development of test plans related to User Acceptance Testing.
  • Responsible for oversight and assistance in internal testing for Juvenile Justice Information System and administrative systems.
  • Works closely with Finance & Accounting, Budget, and other business groups to create user stories, test cases, and test scripts (procedures) for performing UAT, including Florida PALM.
