Location: Tallahassee
The GIS Mapping Analyst I supports the Florida Department of Transportation by developing Geographic Information Systems products across desktop, server, and online platforms. The role involves collecting, analyzing, and documenting spatial data; maintaining metadata and project records; and performing technical tasks such as data creation, web publishing, and field inventory. This position is based in the Geographic Information Systems Office in Tallahassee and serves both internal DOT offices and external clients.
Keyqualifications
- Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) concepts and cartography terminology
- Skill in GIS software use and related mapping applications
- Ability to create geospatial products and perform photo-interpretation of aerial imagery
- Ability to use databases for map preparation
- One year of experience with GIS software (minimum qualification)
- Ability to work professionally with internal and external customers
