Location: Eglin Air Force Base
Duties
* Administers the F-35 Local Area Network (LAN) and the F-35 hardware in the Loop Electronic Warfare Labs for the unit.
* Conducts problem analysis to identify trends, ineffective practices or procedures, and equipment shortcomings.
* Plans for current and future technology integration and works issues for compatibility and standardization based on current and projected customer needs.
* Ensures the rigorous application of information security and assurance policies in the delivery of network services. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

* The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
* The employee must obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on a military or commercial aircraft.
* Recall to duty and overtime may be a requirement of this position.
* Overtime and/or emergency overtime may be required.
* This is a Testing Designated Position. The incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
* Information Assurance Certification at Level II, Information Assurance Technician, is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement.
* Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.0J-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3.
* Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
* The employee may perform additional duties as assigned, such as equip custodian, software license manager, etc. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Individual Occupational Requirements for the Information Technology (IT) Management Series, GS-2210
EDUCATION:
Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

EXPERIENCE:
Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving AND one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09 (or equivalent in other pay systems) which includes:
Application of IT network systems design principles, methodologies, and approaches used in developing, testing, installing, operating, managing, and maintaining network services that support functional requirements;
Analyzing functional IT network system requirements, translate findings into functional requirements, develop supportable recommendations for enhancement, and apply a wide range of methodologies and tools;
Applying the methods, techniques, and processes for the integration and optimization of LAN/WAN components, infrastructure requirements, and test and evaluation methods sufficient to Install and operate base wide programs and provide technical guidance to others in designing, testing, operating, and maintaining network programs.
