Senior Specialist, Data Governance

• Develop, maintain, and enforce enterprise-wide data governance policies, standards, and procedures
• Define and document data ownership, stewardship, and accountability structures
• Establish and manage data governance frameworks, councils, and working groups
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, completeness, security, and regulatory compliance
• Monitor and improve data quality through profiling, validation, and issue remediation
• Partner with data owners and stewards to resolve data defects and root causes
• Support master data management, metadata management, and reference data controls initiatives
• Implement and monitor controls for sensitive data handling, retention, classification, change management, and access management
• Support audits, risk assessments, and remediation planning
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, cybersecurity, and IT teams on data-related risks
• Provide training and support to data owners, stewards, and end users
• Maintain documentation of governance frameworks, policies, procedures, and data lineage
• Research complex issues, solve problems, and implement governance solutions
• Translate data-related requirements into innovative governance solutions
• Stay current with data governance trends, regulations, and best practices
• Travel 10–20% and support onsite implementations or enterprise solution integrations

• Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience in data governance, data management, or related field
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOX, and ITAR
• Knowledge of industry standards including DAMA-DMBOK and DCAM
• Experience implementing data literacy programs
• Experience with ERPs and enterprise software such as SAP, People Soft, Oracle, and Cost Point
• Understanding of data architecture, data modeling, systems integration, and data management best practices
• Experience with data quality tools, data profiling, and data lineage analysis
• Understanding of cloud data platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Professional certifications in data governance or compliance are preferred
• Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred
• Ability to travel 10–20% and support onsite implementation when required

Demonstrates expertise in developing and enforcing data governance policies, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with regulatory frameworks. Proficient in managing data quality initiatives and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective data management solutions.
