Legal Secretary
The Legal Administrative Assistant will provide general office support for our Litigation & Disputes attorneys and paralegals. This will include maintaining and organizing files, managing appointments and calendaring deadlines, proofreading and formatting documents, and utilizing case management software to keep cases organized. Our ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of administrative assistant experience, preferably working with litigation matters.
Where You'll WorkThe Legal Administrative Assistant role is an hourly non-exempt position and will work full-time at our Sarasota, Florida office.
What You'll Do- Assist attorneys in organizing and managing case files, including maintaining document databases and electronic records.
- Proofread and format legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories, files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures.
- Maintain calendars for attorneys and paralegals, including scheduling appointments and calendaring all relevant deadlines.
- Answer incoming calls and route as appropriate.
- Minimum of high school diploma required.
- 2+ years of administrative assistant experience, litigation administrative assistant experience preferred.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Project and case management skills, including a strong aptitude for managing and prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.

Physical Requirements- Sitting position, static for up to one-half hour at a time, up to six hours per day.
- Standing and walking regularly, up to two hours per day.
- Lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds occasionally.
- Bends and stoops occasionally, up to one-half hour per day.
