Position Title: Regulatory Counsel

Shape the future of a growing insurance organization while building a legal career with real autonomy and influence. A rapidly expanding organization in the property and casualty insurance industry is seeking a Regulatory Counsel to support its insurance carriers, navigate evolving state regulatory requirements, and provide practical legal guidance as the business expands into new markets. This position will play an important role in managing regulatory filings, supporting compliance initiatives, advising on insurance laws, and collaborating with internal stakeholders on corporate governance and business operations.

The ideal candidate is an ambitious, self-directed attorney with insurance regulatory experience, strong legal judgment, and the ability to independently manage complex legal matters in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Salary Range: $115,000 - $190,000 / Year, DOE

• Prepare, file, and track state insurance regulatory submissions, policy forms, rate filings, licensing applications, and related regulatory materials
• Monitor Florida OIR requirements and regulatory developments across additional states as the insurance platform expands
• Support responses to regulatory inquiries, market conduct exams, data calls, and other state insurance department requests
• Research and interpret insurance statutes, administrative rules, NAIC model laws, and emerging legislation, translating developments into practical business guidance
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, actuarial, and business teams to ensure products, forms, and processes satisfy applicable regulatory requirements
• Support corporate governance, board and committee materials, resolutions, corporate records, reinsurance agreements, vendor contracts, and other commercial matters
• For Corporate Counsel opportunities, contribute to M&A, corporate transitions, governance, complex contracts, compliance, and strategic business initiatives

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school and active admission to the bar in the state of residence
• Several years of attorney experience with demonstrated strength in insurance regulatory law, M&A and corporate transactions, complex contracts, governance, or compliance
• Insurance regulatory experience, particularly state regulatory filings and property & casualty insurance, strongly preferred
• Familiarity with the Florida Insurance Code, Florida OIR practices, NAIC model laws, SERFF, interstate filing processes, and Certificates of Authority highly valued
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into practical guidance
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership in a high-growth environment
• Experience may come from an insurance company, law firm, insurance department, or in-house legal team
