Position SummaryAs a Purchasing Agent, you’ll be a key part of keeping our projects running smoothly by managing purchasing, coordinating with vendors, and tracking materials from order to delivery. Key Responsibilities- Issue purchase orders for materials, equipment, tools, and supplies in accordance with approved quotes, budgets, and authorization requirements.
- Obtain and evaluate competitive quotes for non‑standard materials and equipment.
- Support cost control initiatives while maintaining quality, delivery schedules, and vendor performance.
- Maintain productive relationships with approved vendors and identify opportunities to source new vendors when beneficial.
- Track open purchase orders, monitor lead times, and follow up on delayed or back‑ordered items.
- Coordinate technical submittals and ensure purchasing aligns with approved specifications.
- Ensure all purchasing documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant (POs, quotes, packing slips, invoices, warranties, manuals, submittals).
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to support receiving, inventory accuracy, and stocking of commonly used materials.
- Issue and process field purchase orders in accordance with SOPs.
- Communicate clearly with vendors and internal stakeholders regarding order status, pricing, and availability.
- Adhere to purchasing procedures and contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred
- 2 or more years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in construction, roofing, or a related environment
- Experience working with ERP (Sage Intacct) or purchasing systems preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Understanding of purchasing processes, purchase orders, and vendor coordination
- Ability to read and interpret quotes, specifications, and submittals
- Strong organizational and follow‑up skills with attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and purchasing or accounting software
- Customer‑focused mindset with strong internal collaboration skills
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Successful Pre‑Employment Drug
