Our client, a leading utility organisation, is seeking a detail-oriented Sourcing Specialist to support purchasing operations on a 12-month contract basis. The successful candidate will manage purchase orders, support system transition activities, and collaborate cross-functionally to maintain smooth procurement workflows.
Responsibilities- Create purchase orders (POs) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage and maintain existing POs, including updates, confirmations, and issue resolution.
- Support special projects including: identifying and resolving past due purchase orders; data cleanup and validation activities; and preparing the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) system for the transition to GEP.
- Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, planning, finance, and suppliers) to ensure smooth purchasing workflows.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audits and reporting.
- Assist with process improvements and standardisation efforts across the supply chain function.
- Experience in supply chain, procurement, purchasing, or related operations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with ERP, SRM, or procurement systems.
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualisation tools.
- Familiarity with GEP or similar procurement platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
