Position OverviewMaintenance Tech I is responsible for performing basic preventive maintenance on short‑term rental homes, conducting inspections, managing supply deliveries, and handling guest‑impact minor maintenance. They communicate via email, paper, and maintenance software, and document completion of tasks.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance on residential units, including structural components, cosmetic repairs, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, security, pool, appliances, door/window, furniture, electronics, paint, and flooring.
- Deliver, pickup, maintain, and inventory Rental Delivery Equipment (CART) following the prescribed route.
- Conduct maintenance inspections of residential units and report information.
- Communicate with guests, employees, and management regarding maintenance issues and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
- Update service work orders and report all daily activities to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor and excellent customer service at all times.
- Manage time effectively, multitask, and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
- Be available on‑call on certain times as required.
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and guests.
- Listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees, homeowners, and guests.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Luxury Residential Resorts Standards.
- Update service work orders and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical components in rental homes.
- Self‑starter with the ability to self‑teach and innovate new processes.
- Work cohesively with other departments.
- Document and report all daily activities to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
- Be flexible to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and hours exceeding 40+.
- High School Diploma required.
- Hospitality experience preferred.
- Experience in construction (residential and commercial) is a plus.
- Ability to work with hand and power tools.
- Excellent customer service skills in person and by phone.
- Ability to communicate, written and oral, in English; bilingual preferred.
- Ability to stand and work outdoors for long periods in heat and cold.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to walk long distances.
