Operations Manager
Atlas Building Company is currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager based in our corporate office in Sarasota, Florida. You must have a minimum of 10 years of verifiable commercial construction experience (projects ranging from $10 to $20 million). Position will be responsible for overseeing large‑scale commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality targets are consistently achieved.
As Senior Project Manager, you’ll take full ownership of project execution — from contract negotiations through completion. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.
Responsibilities will include the following:
Leadership & Communication- Lead all phases of construction, from proposal assistance, buyout to closeout.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, trust‑based collaboration, and consistent delivery of results. Must be able to represent Atlas professionally in all client interactions, ensuring satisfaction, repeat business, and long‑term partnerships.
- Chair owner meetings and maintain transparent communication across all parties.
- Mentor Assistant PMs, Project Engineers, and field staff.
- Maintain full P&L responsibility for assigned projects.
- Lead and implement subcontractor buyout, ensuring scope clarity and cost control.
- Manage change orders, forecasts, and project reporting through Procore.
- Negotiate effectively to protect margin and minimize disputes.
- Develop and manage detailed CPM schedules using MS Project.
- Coordinate with superintendents to plan logistics, mobilization, and sequencing.
- Identify and resolve schedule risks before they impact delivery.
- Implement proactive risk management and quality assurance practices.
- Partner with superintendents to enforce site safety programs and OSHA compliance.
- Ensure timely permits, inspections, and utility activations.
- Maintain complete control of submittals, RFIs, change logs, and project records.
- Use Procore, MS Office, and Bluebeam to produce accurate, professional documentation.
- Deliver owner‑ready schedules, cost reports, and closeout packages on time.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of experience managing large commercial construction projects. Expert knowledge of Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage client relationships. A professional presence, extreme attention to detail, and ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple projects.
