Overview
Payroll Manager Pride Health is hiring a Payroll Manager for one of its clients based in Florida. This is a 3-month contract with a possible extension, onsite in Sarasota, FL (34238). Pay range: $40 - $45 per hour on a W2. Length of assignment: 3 months (with possible extension). Shift: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (occasional hours past 5 if needed).
Responsibilities- Oversee all Payroll functions, including reconciling and submitting payroll taxes, state unemployment, and garnishments.
- Oversee Payroll Specialists; manage and develop department staff.
- Balance payroll, ensure compliance with FLSA and Wage & Hour Laws, depository procedures, proof of transit, positive pay, and general ledger accounting, including various journal entries.
- Direct the process of recording employee hours and disbursing costs to proper accounts.
- Direct the review and audit of Personnel Action Forms.
- Finalize processes for employee-related garnishments, IRS levies, child support orders, and other court orders.
- Oversee direct deposit setup or change requests and confirm information with the financial institution.
- Prepare and download weekly FTE reports.
- Oversee bi-weekly accrual and balance of Paid Time Off after each pay period and generate reports to all departments/teams.
- Process finalization and transmission of bi-weekly payroll to financial institutions.
- Prepare and transmit or disburse bi-weekly federal and state payroll taxes and other deductions.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6-9 years of experience; payroll management experience preferred.
- Experience with payroll software applications.
- Familiarity and detailed knowledge of general accounting principles.
- CPP certification preferred.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation to perform tasks; must provide proof of automobile insurance.
