Position OverviewThe Maintenance Leader will manage the maintenance program for a 3‑3x1 Combined‑Cycle Power Plant in Loxahatchee, Florida. The role is responsible for executing both short‑term and long‑term maintenance strategies, ensuring all activities comply with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. The Leader directly supervises and performs performance management of maintenance employees, both bargaining unit and exempt, and works with the Plant Manager to implement the maintenance plan and meet budget targets.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Ensure a short‑range maintenance work plan functions as a cohesive plan across all plant departments, including planning, scheduling, procurement of materials and contract labor.
- Review and provide feedback on the long‑term maintenance strategy.
- Responsible for all contract administration.
- Lead site for short notice outage planning to optimize budget and expenditures.
- Work with the Central Maintenance Team, site personnel and contractors to plan and execute all major maintenance and other planned outages as site lead.
- Provide oversight and strategic direction for maintaining all maintenance procedures.
- Lead as on‑call manager when needed, making precise decisions.
- Set clear expectations for team members and contractors.
- Manage associated capital and O&M budgets.
- Responsible for work management backlog.
- Troubleshoot and analyze equipment performance deviations.
- Ensure site equipment is in excellent operational condition and available for use at all times.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Safety oriented.
- Ability to understand business processes and apply them to situations.
- Capacity to handle complex situations under pressure.
- Team player.
- Self‑starter with a strong bias for action.
- Knowledge and understanding of advanced power plant maintenance and operations.
- Experience in planning and scheduling of complex tasks.
- Contract management experience.
- Ability to manage multiple work scopes.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience:
5+ years. - High School Graduate or GED.
- Supervisor/Management experience: 2+ years.
