Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Foreman to join our landscaping business. As a Foreman, you will be responsible for leading and supervising a team of landscaping workers to ensure the successful completion of projects. Your strong leadership skills, industry knowledge, and ability to manage and motivate a team will contribute to the overall success of our operations.

Responsibilities Team Supervision and Leadership
  • Lead and supervise a team of landscaping workers, providing guidance, direction, and support.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and capabilities.
  • Ensure efficient use of labor and resources to maximize productivity and meet project deadlines.
  • Train new team members on job duties, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Motivate and inspire team members to perform at their best, fostering a positive work environment.
Project Execution and Coordination
  • Execute landscaping projects according to specifications, plans, and timelines.
  • Coordinate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and expectations.
  • Organize and schedule work activities, ensuring optimal workflow and efficient use of resources.
  • Monitor project progress, addressing any issues or obstacles that may arise.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and equipment, to ensure necessary resources are available.
Quality Control
  • Ensure that all work meets or exceeds quality standards and client expectations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to assess the quality of workmanship, materials, and installations.
  • Identify and address any deficiencies or areas for improvement.
  • Implement corrective measures and provide feedback to team members to enhance quality.
Safety Compliance
  • Promote and enforce a culture of safety among team members.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct safety meetings and trainings, addressing potential hazards and promoting safe work practices.
  • Regularly inspect job sites for safety hazards and implement corrective actions.
Equipment and Resource Management
  • Manage and maintain landscaping equipment, tools, and vehicles.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance, repairs, and replacements as needed.
  • Ensure proper use, care, and storage of equipment to prolong their lifespan.
  • Monitor inventory levels of materials, supplies, and equipment, and communicate needs to the appropriate departments.
Communication and Collaboration
  • Maintain regular communication with project managers, supervisors, and other team members.
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Communicate project updates, challenges, and requirements to the team and relevant stakeholders.
  • Address any conflicts, concerns, or issues raised by team members and elevate as necessary.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or vocational training are a plus.
  • Proven experience (3-5 years) as a Foreman in the landscaping or construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of landscaping practices, techniques, and materials.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Good understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using landscaping tools and equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
