Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, training, and coaching of assigned division construction personnel to ensure understanding of job responsibilities, development of skills, and maximized performance.
  • Manage selection, performance reviews, individual development planning, and personnel decisions including hiring, promotions, and separations.
  • Create and adjust work schedules for assigned personnel and update workforce management programs for automatic routing.
  • Ensure successful completion of all residential and commercial mains and service installations.
  • Conduct field site visits and investigate and resolve customer concerns and issues.
  • Coordinate and regulate contractor use, approve contractor billing, review as-built drawings, and perform final inspections.
  • Maintain highest level of project planning and management for new construction projects, ensuring projects are on time, on budget, and on scope.
  • Assist gas design technicians with project design work and coordinate construction jobs between contractors and municipalities.
  • Ensure compliance with all company requirements and Public Service Commission requirements.
  • Maintain inventory at the division office for construction jobs.
  • Investigate company-incurred incidents/accidents.
  • Perform additional engineering and construction duties as needed to implement projects on the PGS system.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a high school diploma/GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related natural gas utility operations experience, including 2 years in a leadership or project management role providing direct oversight of a team or project.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and thorough knowledge of company policies, procedures, and Public Service Commission requirements.
  • Ability to multi‑task, delegate, and respond effectively to high‑level stress situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, team building, project management, and leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop personnel.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely express ideas and conduct presentations.
Competitive Edge
  • Associate or Technical Degree from an accredited institution.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment for work assigned.
  • Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and the like using feet, legs, hands, and arms.
  • Must be able to maintain balance when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow or slippery surfaces and/or spaces.
  • Must be able to independently operate a motor vehicle safely.
  • Must be able to work outside for extended periods of time.
Incident Response Assignment

Our community relies on Peoples Gas to respond swiftly and effectively to all types of incidents, including but not limited to major storm events, gas leaks, equipment failures, environmental hazards, and other emergencies that may impact public safety or service continuity. As a team member, you will be assigned an incident response assignment, receive training related to your role, and may participate in mock drills or exercises simulating various emergency scenarios.
