Director of Housing and Residential Life

The Director serves as a member of the Student Affairs Leadership Team and oversees Housing and Residential Life. Housing plays an integral part in the New College student residential experience, and it serves as the central hub for where our student Live, Learn and Grow An essential position within the division, in addition to being responsible for several professional, administrative, and student staff, the Director of Housing and Residential Life is also responsible for managing an approximately $2 million dollar budget.

of Duties

Maintaining a comprehensive plan for residential life. Upholding residential objectives, policies, procedures, and standards for the Department within the overall mission and goals of the Division of Student Affairs and the College. Supervises employees in the Department of Residential Life and Housing, including, Assistant Director of Housing Operations, and Area Coordinators. Working collaboratively with General Counsel, implement the College Community Standards and initiatives to ensure New College of Florida remains compliant with applicable laws and liability issues in regards to housing operations Providing leadership for crisis management situations (serves as one of the college's Hurricane critical staff members) and collaborates with the Dean of Students and Director of Public Safety to create a response procedure and coordinate a response team who will deal with campus emergencies relating to students Developing annual rent schedules making recommendations to the Administration Preparing material to finance capital projects, including but not limited to renovations and new residential facilities.

Administering comprehensive maintenance and custodial operation plans for the residential community Works closely with the Director of Dining and Nutritional Services Developing and implementing strategies to enhance staff effectiveness, teamwork, community, and professional development Representing the department on College-wide committees as assigned Works closely with Facilities while overseeing the Assistant Director of Housing Operations and those areas of assignments, key inventory, etc This position will be responsible for adherence to FERPA and some private data and is considered a mandatory reporting position for Title IX Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, organizational, and change management skills are required.

Ability to synthesize complex and diverse information. Good understanding of automated systems and analytical reporting tools Some evening and weekend work will be required Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree or experience at the Directors level in Student Affairs and five years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral Degree in Student Affairs or Higher Education and five years of relevant experience.

Experience with the State University System (SUS); knowledge of Banner 9 software and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Experience with Erez Housing applications, Maxient Conduct Systems, and software Problem Solving
