We are currently looking for a General Manager to lead our team at our new dispensary in Sarasota
. The General Manager manages the day-to-day operations of an assigned store, following Florida's Department of Public and Behavioral Health, Department of Health and Human Services, regulations, and Planet 13 policies and procedures. This position manages all aspects of store operations, including security for the building and personnel, cash handling, product tracking/reporting, patient records maintenance, security during transport of product, loss prevention, sales reporting, product/supplies purchases, internal control oversight, and facility maintenance and cleanliness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of store operations, including product inventory, sales, patient records, and facility maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Oversee product inventory control, ensuring accurate tracking and security of all dispensary products.
  • Ensure strict controls for product, cash, and patient data management.
  • Dispense medication and collect payment via POS systems (cash, debit, etc.), ensuring accurate transactions.
  • Promote a positive, customer-service oriented work environment in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the dispensary operates within the guidelines of Florida’s Medical Marijuana Use Registry (MMUR).
  • Supervise dispensary employees, providing coaching, training, and performance management to foster development and meet company goals.
  • Create and manage work schedules to ensure appropriate shift coverage for all dispensary operations.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire qualified candidates to maintain adequate store staffing levels.
  • Ensure proper training for new employees and continuous training for current employees.
  • Administer progressive disciplinary actions and coaching as necessary to maintain a productive work environment.
  • Complete daily inventory cycle counts and ensure inventory is accurately tracked and reported.
  • Submit daily sales reports and deposits with accurate record-keeping and documentation.
  • Submit weekly inventory cycle counts to the Regional Vice President (RVP).
  • Approve weekly payroll, ensuring labor costs are managed appropriately.
  • Submit weekly reports to department heads (deposit logs, product orders, cash counts, labor proformas, store reviews).
  • Order supplies and manage product inventory to ensure availability for customers.
  • Submit cash deposits to Imperyal.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is provided to all customers.
  • Research and schedule community outreach events, table days, and other marketing activities to engage with the local community and promote the dispensary.
  • Assist with marketing efforts by promoting dispensary sales and maintaining a strong relationship with physicians and community stakeholders.
  • Complete customer service audits to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Review online reviews (Google, Yelp) to monitor customer feedback and improve store performance.
  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, and meets safety and health standards.
  • Report facility maintenance issues and oversee any necessary repairs or upkeep.
  • Submit change orders for any product-related adjustments.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with direct reports and team members regarding store needs, operational challenges, and updates.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Health (DOH) regulations and inspections.
  • Handle other administrative duties as needed, including submitting Amazon orders for supplies, and assisting with any company-wide initiatives or special projects.
  • Stay current with latest industry and product knowledge.
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
  • Assist with the implementation of company policies, standard operating procedures, and performance standards.
