Position Overview
Florida State University (FSU) seeks a strategic and experienced leader to serve as its next Director of the Center for Global Engagement (CGE). Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, the Director will provide vision, leadership, and operational oversight for one of the University's most visible and impactful centers, supporting international education, intercultural engagement, and global learning.

About the Center for Global EngagementThe Center for Global Engagement plays a central role in advancing the University's internationalization efforts. Serving more than 2,400 international students and over 250 scholars and faculty, the Center provides immigration advising and compliance services, global exchange programs, the Global Citizenship Certificate, and a wide range of intercultural and educational initiatives. Through signature programs, events, and partnerships, CGE fosters meaningful intercultural connections, global awareness, and student engagement across the University community.
ResponsibilitiesThe Director provides leadership for the Center for Global Engagement, overseeing International Student and Scholar Services, Global Exchanges, the Global Citizenship Certificate, and intercultural programs. Working closely with partners across Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and the Office of the Provost, the Director advances FSU's internationalization goals, supports global learning and student success initiatives, and serves as a key resource on immigration and international education matters.
The role also represents the Center for Global Engagement in institutional and external partnerships.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative and strategic leader with a strong commitment to international education and intercultural engagement. A master's degree and at least six years of relevant experience (or a bachelor's degree and eight years of experience) are required; a doctorate is preferred. Candidates should possess leadership experience in international education, student affairs, or a related field, along with expertise in immigration compliance, global programming, organizational management, and cross‑campus collaboration.
The ability to build partnerships, lead complex operations, and advance institutional priorities through innovation and teamwork is essential.
