What You’ll Do:The Blender / System Control Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring automated and manual blending systems to ensure accurate formulation, product quality, and safe production. This role follows batch instructions, monitors system controls, and ensures materials are blended according to specifications while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and production standards.
Responsibilities:- Operate computer-based automated blending, pasteurizing, finished products, and CIP systems.
- Ensure the proper flow of product, equipment functionality, and adherence to production schedules.
- Identify and resolve equipment or system malfunctions, escalating complex issues to maintenance as needed.
- Record operating data, system performance logs, and shift production reports accurately.
- Conduct system checks, inspections, and preventive maintenance as directed.
- Monitor product quality and make necessary system adjustments to maintain standards.
- Perform periodic tear-down of all pasteurizers, valves and lines associated with the system.
- Support production changeovers, machine setups, and shutdown procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Communicate with team members and supervisors regarding system performance and any production issues.
- Assist with quality checks and pull samples as needed.
- Work with minimal supervision and lead Blenders.
- Cross train in other jobs as needed.
- Entry level position will be a cross functional operator to include blending responsibilities
- Regular attendance required.
- Perform any other duties assigned.
- Active participation of the plant safety program is required.
- High school diploma or GED required;
Lean Manufacturing Training a plus. - 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Must pass Basic Skills Assessment for the position.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with automated systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently when necessary.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sense by smell and flavor product
- Ability to physically enter restricted, confined spaces including blend tanks and other tanks.
- Specific vision abilities are required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work in diverse temperature environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the shift
- Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds (occasionally up to 75 pounds) of raw materials or finished product.
- Required to stand or sit for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift).
- Frequent use of hands and arms for scooping, pouring, lifting, and operating controls.
- Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching to access materials or clean equipment.
- May need to climb stairs or ladders to access equipment, elevated platforms or tankers.
- Regular movement around the production floor and between workstations.
- Must be able to visually inspect materials and hear warning alarms or instructions in a noisy environment.
- Must be able to sense by smell and flavor product
- Ability to physically enter restricted, confined spaces including blend tanks and other tanks.
- Specific vision abilities are required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work in diverse temperature environments.
- Potential exposure to dust, strong odors, loud machinery, and fluctuating temperatures; must wear PPE (personal protective equipment) such as gloves, goggles, and hearing protection.
