Work Schedule:
Monday through Thursday 5:00am to 3:30pm
Job Summary
Perform dimensional, electrical, or mechanical inspections:
Including visual check of parts, units, sub or final assemblies that are sent through Receiving Inspection. Perform dimensional inspections using gauges, rules, scales, gauge pins, gauge blocks, optical comparators, surface plates, micrometers and calipers. Some degree of judgment may be required to determine inferior material or workmanship, but instructions and/or partially prescribed procedures should be followed. Interpreting simple and complex part or assembly drawings and/or specifications for product conformance to quality standards.
Some electrical tests may be performed following prescribed procedure and instruction. May work under limited supervision.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Incoming material inspection.
- PWB panel inspection.
- Inspection of electrical components (resistors, capacitors, IC's, transistors, diodes, crystals, coils, inductors, and relays).
- Subject parts, assemblies and purchased components to rigorous dimensional analysis to ascertain conformance to required tolerances.
- Perform physical tests on materials using hardness tester, profilometer, durometer, tension tester, etc. to ascertain conformance to required tolerances as needed.
- Reference blueprints, interpret dimensioning shown and review inspection results against engineering and customer specifications.
- Enter/extract data in computer.
- Generate Quality Control documentation.
- Record inspection results and maintain general files.
- Verify equipment calibration requirements are within specifications. Inform supervisor if recalibration or repair needs to be reviewed.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Six (6) months electronics component assembly experience plus one (1) year of Sparton/general component/PCB inspection experience required.
- US Citizenship is required
- Must possess good math fundamentals, comprehend written work instructions, and communicate well. May also be required to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite applications, AX and Agile systems.
- Must maintain certification to General or Advanced Soldering Workmanship Standards and ESD Precautions, as required by location.
- Ability to use GO/NO GO, direct and fixed gauges, scales, and micrometers.
- Interpret simple and complex parts of assembly drawings.
- Must demonstrate ability to meet minimum requirements of eye test and color recognition test.
- Final training will be determined by the supervisor/designee during introductory period on the job.
- No travel required.

The noise level in the work environment may be loud. - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, and communicate, use hands/finger, feel, and reach with arms. This position requires the ability to lift, bend or stoop as necessary up to 20lbs.
