Job Summary
Are you the type of person who loves to weld and use your skills to develop the next generation of welders? In this role you will assist the recruiting team in the hiring process by using established assessments to evaluate potential candidates, train new and existing Vermeer welders, and perform quality assurance audits throughout the plant.

- Facilitate weld training curriculum for new welders in all welding processes, including blueprint reading, gun angles, welder settings, visual inspection of welds, defect identification, job hazard analysis, and weld quality per Vermeer standards; maintain a professional learning environment in both classroom and hands‑on training.
- Monitor and assess team members against established standards for Vermeer welders using direct welding tests, blueprint tests, and measuring tests; provide coaching and feedback based on assessment.
- Evaluate potential candidates using established assessments to assist recruiting in the hiring process and developing talent in the organization.
- Perform root‑cause analysis to resolve warranty and or Quality Notification Forms.
- Perform NDT inspection, audits and weldments and review results with leadership.
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 5 years of welding experience; and/or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Certified Welding Educator with the American Welding Society and Certified Welding Inspector with the American Welding Society, preferred.
- Understanding of design guidelines, root cause analysis, troubleshooting and welding standards.
- Ability to partner with Weld Engineering and Operations to execute weld audits when needed.
- Ability to hold team members accountable to Vermeer safety and quality standards.
- Ability to produce accurate, professional, and error‑free documents in a timely manner.
- Ability to operate manual and automated (as applicable) welding equipment for GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, and SAW.
- Ability to operate metallurgical equipment including sample preparation, micro and macro hardness testing, mechanical testing, non‑destructive testing, chemical testing, and microscopes.
Occasional travel is expected of this position.
Work LocationONSITE: A team member’s day‑to‑day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an off‑site location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
