Job Summary:
The Finishing Operator will be responsible for finishing machined parts by setting up and operating manual and/or computer numerical control (CNC) machine, maintaining all quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment/supplies.
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Reading blueprints, specifications, and drawings
* Setting up various machines including tools changes and offsets, compensation and conditional switches
* Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions
* Verifies setting by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces while adhering to standards
* Maintaining specifications by observing and taking measurements
* Troubleshoot machine malfunctions, adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools
* Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
* Documenting actions by completing production and quality logs
* Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publication, etc.
* Communicating status of work orders and irregularities
* Explore opportunities to add value in work area
Required Skills/Abilities:
* Understanding work order, blueprints, control plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, critical surfaces/edges, and machining parameters while interpreting geometric dimension and tolerances (GD&T)
* Understanding work instructions ad zero/reference points
* Understanding of basic math, geometry, and trigonometry
* Positive and proactive attitude toward completing work orders
* Willingness to learn and grow through Sun Hydraulics
* Meeting commitments and obligations
Education and Experience:
* High school diploma/GED required
* Technical college degree preferred
* 2+ years' experience using production machinery
Physical Requirements:
* Prolonged periods of standing
* Prolonged period of sitting
* Ability to lift 50 pounds at times
