Loader Operator

Job Summary

Operate a straight or articulated rubber‑tired front‑end loader equipped with a hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas. The loader feeds conveyors, hoppers or chutes and loads trucks.

• Start the engine, shift gears, press pedals, and steer the loader.
• Lower, tilt and drive the bucket into bulk material.
• Raise, tilt and dump the bucket once filled.
• Move the vehicle to the work site.
• Perform routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling and cleaning.

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.

Proper certification required.

Appropriate training and experience required.

• Practice good safety habits.
• Work in dusty or dirty surroundings.
• Follow instructions and meet set standards.
• Judge distances and slopes accurately and make decisions based on verifiable standards.
• Stoop, bend and crouch.
• Use hands, arms and legs fully.
• See well (naturally or with corrective lens).
• Lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects up to 25 pounds.
