Summary/Objective

The Industrial Engineer will be for optimizing the production processes, coordinating and overseeing the planning and scheduling of production activities within a manufacturing facility. Their primary goal is to ensure that production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and in line with company objectives and customer demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate the total raw materials, chemicals and other products demand/requirement for next month production based on customer orders.
  • Prepare yearly production requirement and demand planning reports based on sales department yearly sales outlook.
  • Manage demand planning for all raw materials, chemicals, weft yarn and other products
  • Control and adjust inventory levels between min and max for raw materials, chemicals, weft yarn and other products together with Purchasing department
  • Inform purchasing division what is needed and when it is required.
  • Coordinate urgent and/or unexpected customer order productions with production
  • Promptly inform relevant departments about the changes on current production schedule.
  • Recommend viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production process and product quality.
  • Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortage or bottlenecks in usage
  • Schedule and follow up daily production plans and machine allocation scheduling based on confirmed customer order shipment dates.
  • Share production requirements, efficiencies until the year-end based on sales department yearly sales outlook
  • Analyze manufacturing methods and workflows to eliminate inefficiencies (bottlenecks) and reduce waste.
  • Perform time studies to establish, update, and maintain labor standards and production rates.
  • Lead lean initiatives (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen) to improve productivity

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. In this role, a successful candidate must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time on the production floor. They must also be able to lift 25- 40lbs occasionally. There will be frequent bending, reaching, climbing and stooping.

To align with safety standards, they must be able to wear PPE including safety glasses, protective footwear and hearing protection.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Standard Hours of work are Monday through Friday, approximately 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 40 hours per week with the possibility of some work outside of normal hours.

Travel

There will be little to no travel for this role.

Required

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • 2–5 years of experience in with planning or production scheduling
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems
  • Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office
Preferred Experience

Required education and experience +

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • 5+ years of experience in with planning or production scheduling
  • Strong experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems
  • Moderate knowledge of ERP systems, such as SAP, S2K, Oracle, etc.
