JOB DESCRIPTION:

Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) Operator Weekend SHIFT (6AM-6PM):

Performs inspection of circuit card assemblies using Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to verify compliance with workmanship standards and manufacturing requirements. Operates, monitors, and supports AOI systems used to detect component placement issues, solder defects, polarity errors, missing parts, and other visible assembly nonconformances. Reviews inspection results, identifies straightforward defects, documents findings, and escalates discrepancies as needed. Works from work instructions, inspection criteria, drawings, and applicable quality standards.

May assist with basic troubleshooting of AOI equipment, recipe verification, and production support activities to maintain workflow and product quality.

  Works under general supervision. Less detailed instructions are provided and moderate peer review is required.

  Communicates with contacts typically within the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement.

  Work is less structured within identified boundaries and procedures. Follows established inspection and production processes to complete tasks. Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations and escalates issues to supervisor or quality personnel for resolution.

  Works to achieve operational targets within job area which has some impact on the overall achievement of results for the team. Work is somewhat limited in scope, typically on smaller, less structured task-related activities.
• Education & Experience:
  Requires developing job knowledge/skills on AOI and Circuit soldering.

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
