Production Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- The HCOA Sheet Metal Tech is responsible to identify, prep, and assemble all production parts assigned to his work center. The HCOA Sheet Metal Tech shall identify, prep,construct aircraft, assemblies, and parts, within estimated time and in accordance with applicable HCOA, and customer work instructions without deviation.

Operator reads a Mylar, or MI to determine the details needed to assemble production parts.

Prepare surfaces by all HCOA Engineering methods and techniques, and ensure that they meet aerodynamic smoothness, quality, and placement requirements.

Work with littleor no supervision.

Work constructively, and cohesively.

Follow all applicable specifications to accomplish a specific task.

Maintain a cleanand safe working environment.

Perform work within allocated hours.

Follow all safety procedure sand specifications.

Execute all required paperwork in connection with assigned normal duties.

Interface effectively with members of management, other departments, and co-workers.

Report any difficulties, uncertainties, unserviceable equipment or potential safety hazards to their supervisor and observe all safety precautions in the performance of assigned tasks at all times.

SECONDARY DUTIES:

Perform other workas instructed by the Production Supervisor or Lead, if qualified.

Assist production in tasks not only in your job scope but to meet production needs.

Job Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Ability to operatea drill press, band saw, belt sander and rivet press equipment.
Ability to precisely operate pneumatic tools but not limited to palm drills, rivet guns,palm sanders, “C” squeeze.
Must be able to properly utilize all sheet metal hand tools to facilitate completion of production parts and yield a quality assembly and or part; i.e spring clecos,draw clecos, edge clecos, “C” clamps, all deburring tools but not limited to examples listed.
Ability to read Blueprints/Mylar’s.
Knowledge of use of measuring equipment; i.e. calipers, scales, pin gauges, grip gauges.
Must be able to communicate effectively and write clearly for documentation.
Must be able tofollow established methods and procedures.
Perform lay outwork, measuring, hole size Identification, hole location of all parts in preparation for assembly.
Must be able toperform close tolerance drilling to prepare for fastener installation.
Must be able to identify various types’ fasteners to ensure proper installation and use.
Perform the assigned production tasks in accordance with engineering specs, MIs, HWIs.
Perform high quality and airworthy work in accordance with the engineering instructions provided to them by the Production Manager and/or their Lead.

Physical Demands

Medium to heavy physical effort; maximum weight – 50 pounds. Operator seeks assistance when lifting tools weighing 50 + pounds.
Regularly required to walk, reach, push, pull and bend.
Bending or leaning over table to drill and assemble parts.
Pushing and pullingto load and unload tools or parts.
Extended hours standing on feet in a stationary location.
Prolonged exposure to loud, low, high frequency noises.

Education and Experience

High School diplomaor equivalent.
Ten (10) or moreyears’ experience (preferred) performing as an aircraft sheet metal technician in the commercial/production environment or five (5) or more years as amilitary sheet metal technician.
Must have a good command of the English language, both verbal and written.

Personal Protective Equipment

Safety glasses required
Ear plugs or ear-muffsfor noisy operations (i.e. Drilling parts)
Protective gloves(When handling sheet metal, parts, details with jagged edges)
