The Vice President of Communications (VP) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the organization’s internal and external communications. This role develops and executes comprehensive communications strategies that enhance brand reputation, support advocacy and public policy priorities, engage members and stakeholders, and advance organizational goals.
The VP serves as a senior advisor to executive leadership, manages communications staff and vendors, and ensures consistent, high-quality messaging across all platforms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Develops and implements integrated communications strategies to provide timely information to member hospitals, to support the Association’s advocacy goals, and to drive a media engagement that supports the Association’s broad public policies and key strategic initiatives.
- Assists in the marketing ofkey educational programming and in person events to inform and train hospital staff and non-member subscribers on current issues and topics facing hospitals and health care systems in Florida.
- Leads the communications team working on day-to-day communications and marketing efforts.
- Reviews, edits, and approves all internal and external media for content and adherence to brand style guide.
- Supports the role of the communications team to monitor healthcare themes in state and national media.
- Reviews media requests and work in conjunction with FHA leadership team and CEO/President to strategize on media engagement.
- Serves as spokesperson for FHA, as directed.
- Directs content strategy for websites, social media, email campaigns, newsletters, and publications.
- Oversees production of reports, toolkits, videos, and marketing materials.
- A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Public Affairs, or related fields.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in communications, public relations, or marketing.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic communications plans.
- Requires excellent written and verbal communication and analytic skills.
- Experience with digital platforms, analytics, and AMS/email systems.
- Strong project management and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
